Our History
Brodeur & Sons was founded in 1929 by Phillip H. Brodeur and has been providing quality fuel oil, heating, air conditioning and HVAC services to the South Coast for nearly 100 years.
Brodeur & Sons began as a coal and ice supplier to the north end of New Bedford, having been founded by the great grandfather of the previous owners. When Phillip's son George Sr. (check out his picture) took over the business, his vision brought Brodeur & Sons into the fuel oil business and added appliances to the mix.
Eventually, when George Sr's sons, George and Armand, were old enough, they came into the family run business. The brothers dropped the appliance business, choosing instead to focus on delivering fuel oil and the installation of oil and gas heating systems. With the innovation of central air conditioning in the 1950's, George and Armand decided that adding the sale and servicing of air conditioning systems would be a good fit for the Company and brought Brodeur & Sons into the new age of cooling.
Our Future
In the spring of 2020, Andrew Davison and James Chace, the owners of Cape Cod Biofuels, Inc., purchased the company with the vision of bringing a cleaner renewable liquid heating fuel to the South Coast. Building upon their success on the South Shore and Cape Cod supplying their customers with the cleanest heating fuel in the industry, B30 Bioheat, they have also expanded the HVAC and service side to include plumbing. Master Plumber Robert Sullivan NU '95 has been tasked with running the new venture and continuing the legacy of Brodeur & Sons far into the future.
Our most important mission is making sure that you, our customer, are treated fairly and with courtesy and get the best service possible. Our technicians know these systems inside and out, and they treat every home the way they'd treat their own.

Our technicians and plumbers are fully licensed and insured, with training on oil and gas heating systems, central air, ductless mini-splits, and residential plumbing. The person who shows up at your door is a Brodeur employee, not a subcontractor.
